Cyclone Welcomes - Xi Jin

You all know Xi Jin, am I right? He's that 'quiet Asian bloke' that you always see at UK events, he's that guy that made it so any time a fingerboarder does any free style trick it's called 'doing a Xi Jin', and he's also the person with the name who nobody at events can quite pronounce. As I've followed Xi on a lot of the journeys and events, I've heard them all. Ex-Eye Jin, Sejin, the list is endless. You could literally fill a book, oh and, they already have. But that's a story for another time.

From CS3, the first ever sight of this freestyle-beast, Xi has really made a mark on the UK fingerboarding scene. When he first nervously approached me at the end of CS3 to say thank you for the event, I knew straight away he'd be here to stay. You know how you can go to an event, see a group of kids there doing great and next minute they've quit? Xi wasn't that type. And I was right. Since CS3, Xi has bonded with a lot of the big names in the UK scene, is now sponsored by the renowned fingerboard company Close Up, and is also, generally an incredible nice guy.

I recently had Xi staying over at my house, and then him kindly driving us to the Freestlye-Fingerboards event in Newton. And afterwards, well I knew it was about time to offer him a spot on Cyclone. Those of you that know Xi will know that he's got a great attitude to fingerboarding, journalism, reviews, and an overall very pleasant fellow. And that's exactly what Cyclone wants in a teamrider. So, let's have a nice warm welcome to Xi Jin, welcome to the family, buddy!

As the icing on the cake, here's a 4 minute masterpiece marking Xi's entry into the Cyclone family. Watch in HD, and fullscreen this. It's bonkers.
